Farr West

Farr West's story starts in 1858, when Joseph Taylor settled the area. It was part of Harrisville until November 30, 1890, when the western portion split off as its own LDS ward and was named for Lorin Farr and Chauncey W. West, two early Weber County LDS leaders. Farr West incorporated as a city in 1981.

Today Farr West is still largely agricultural at heart, but that's changing — old farmland is being converted into new subdivisions like Hart Estates and Miya Meadows, with homes ranging from the high $400,000s to $850,000. The city's five parks are a big draw for families: Smith Family Park stands out with a fishing pond, zip line, riding arena, and pickleball and basketball courts, and Remuda Golf Course is nearby. Farr West hosts an annual "Freedom Days" celebration that brings the community together. The city sits near I-15 for easy access to Ogden's shopping and jobs, though residents typically head to North Ogden or Plain City for everyday groceries.
