Here's the good news: Farr West is a small city of about 7,700 people (2020 Census), and only a short list of schools serves it. All of them are in Weber School District, and every home inside Farr West city limits is zoned to the same high school.

Elementary Schools Serving Farr West (K-6)

Silver Ridge Elementary opened in 2020 to serve the newer neighborhoods in north Farr West, including the area around Remuda Golf Course. Farr West Elementary sits on 2700 North, near the middle of town and just down the road from Wahlquist Junior High. Orchard Springs Elementary, which opened in 2019, is across the line in Pleasant View. It serves only a small piece of northeast Farr West.

Junior High Schools Serving Farr West (7-9)

Wahlquist Junior High is the junior high most Farr West kids attend, and it's right in town. The current building on 2400 West opened in 2014.

High School Serving Farr West (10-12)

Under Weber School District's current boundaries, every home inside Farr West city limits is zoned to Fremont High School in neighboring Plain City. That wasn't always true. Before the 2024-25 school year, the northeast corner of Farr West was zoned to Weber High in Pleasant View. The school board approved new high school boundaries in October 2023, when West Field High opened in Taylor, and that corner moved to Fremont.

How do school boundaries work in Farr West?

Weber School District assigns schools by the home's address, not by the city name on the mail. That matters here, because lots of homes outside city limits still have a "Farr West, UT 84404" mailing address. Two houses a few streets apart can feed different elementary schools, and boundaries do change. The 2024-25 high school shift is a recent example. So check the specific address, and don't assume a home's schools from the neighborhood name.

How can I check which schools a specific address feeds?

Start with Weber School District's Boundary Maps page. It has separate elementary, junior high and high school maps for the 2026-27 school year. Zoom in to the home and see which zone it falls in. If a home sits close to a boundary line, call the school or the district office at (801) 476-7800 to confirm. When I'm working with a family, I check the school assignments for every home we look at before we write an offer, so nobody falls in love with a house zoned for a different school than they expected.

Can my child attend a school outside our boundary? (Open enrollment)

Yes. Utah law allows open enrollment, so you can apply for a Weber School District school other than the one your address is zoned to. For the 2026-27 school year, the district's early-period window ran from December 15, 2025 to March 6, 2026, with decisions due by March 31. Approval depends on whether the school has room, and parents are responsible for transportation. Applications outside the early window are possible but less certain. Check the Weber School District website this winter for the 2027-28 dates. Charter schools have their own application and lottery timelines, so apply directly to each one.

How do schools affect home values in Farr West?

For many buyers, school assignment decides which homes they'll even look at. Parents often search for homes by elementary school, and a home zoned to it gets their attention first. Farr West's newer subdivisions in the north end feed Silver Ridge Elementary, one of the district's newer buildings, which helps those homes appeal to young families. Every home in town shares Fremont High, so the high school doesn't split Farr West the way it can in larger cities.
