Best Schools in Taylor, Utah: A Parent's Guide (2026)
If you're house hunting in Taylor, Utah, schools are probably near the top of your list. They're near the top of mine too. I'm a mom, an active PTSA board member, and a Realtor who works in western Weber County every day, so I get asked "which schools would my kids go to?" on almost every showing out here.
Taylor is an unincorporated community in western Weber County, west of West Haven and south of West Weber, with an Ogden 84401 mailing address. It doesn't have its own city government, but it does have something many cities would love: Weber School District's newest high school, West Field High, sits right in the middle of it at 2007 S 4300 W.
Below is every public school that serves Taylor addresses for the 2026-27 school year, according to Weber School District's official boundary maps, plus the charter schools closest to Taylor. After that, I answer the questions parents ask me most.

A Parent's Guide to Schools in Taylor: Your Questions Answered
How do school boundaries work in Taylor?
Every home in Taylor is assigned to one elementary, one junior high and one high school by Weber School District. The assignment is based on the home's address, not the ZIP code or the "Taylor" name on a listing. Because Taylor shares the 84401 ZIP code with West Haven and parts of Ogden, two homes a mile apart can feed completely different schools.
The district also adjusts boundaries as western Weber County grows. The biggest recent change came in 2024, when West Field High, Mountain View Junior High and Haven Bay Elementary all opened and the district redrew boundaries across this whole area. That's why older online sources sometimes list the wrong schools for Taylor. Always go by the district's current maps.
How can I check which schools a specific Taylor address feeds?
This takes about two minutes, and I recommend doing it for every home you're serious about:
- Go to Weber School District's Boundary Maps page.
- Open the elementary map first.
- Click the magnifying glass in the lower right corner of the map and type in the home's address.
- Repeat with the junior high and high school maps.
If an address sits close to a boundary line, call the district at 801-476-7800 to confirm. And if you're working with me, I'll check the schools for every home we look at, so you're never guessing.
Can my child attend a school outside our boundary?
Often, yes. Utah has an open enrollment law, which lets families apply to a public school outside their assigned boundary. Here's what to know in Weber School District:
- Timing matters. The main application window runs in winter for the following school year. For the 2026-27 school year, it ran from December 15, 2025 to March 6, 2026. Watch the district's enrollment page for next year's dates.
- It depends on space. Each year the district decides which schools are open to transfers. For 2026-27, West Field High, Mountain View Junior High and Rocky Mountain Junior High were all open to open enrollment.
- You handle the driving. If your child attends a school outside your boundary, plan on getting them there yourself.
- Charter schools are separate. Quest Academy, Venture Academy and other charters each have their own application and lottery, so apply to them directly.
Do schools affect home values in Taylor?
Yes, though not in a simple "this school adds $X" way. Schools are one of the first filters buyers with kids use, so a home's school assignment shapes who looks at it and how fast it sells.
In Taylor, the 2024 school openings were a big deal. Homes that were once a long bus ride from Fremont High in Plain City are now minutes from a brand-new high school, and families notice. Being close to West Field High is a real selling point here, and having a newer school assignment can make a home easier to sell later.
Just remember that price always comes down to the whole picture: the home, the lot, the street, the commute and the schools together. That's exactly what I help my clients weigh.
Are Taylor's schools a good fit for my family?
That depends on what your family needs. Some families want a short walk to elementary school. Others care most about a specific program, sports, or a smaller charter setting. My best advice: visit the schools, talk to the front office, and look up each school's results on the Utah State Board of Education's School Report Cards. Then use the boundary maps to find homes that match.
Finding a Home Near the Right Schools in Taylor
Matching schools and homes is one of my favorite parts of this job. As a Realtor who specializes in Taylor and western Weber County, I check the school assignment for every home my clients consider, and I know where the boundary lines fall and which neighborhoods feed which schools. As a mom and PTSA board member, I also know how much the right school matters to a family.
If you're thinking about moving to Taylor, I'd love to help you find a home near the schools that fit your kids. Reach out anytime, and we'll start with the schools and work backward to the homes.
