A Parent's Guide to Pleasant View Schools: Your Questions Answered
How do school boundaries work in Pleasant View?
Weber School District assigns schools by the home's address, not by the city name in the mailing address. In Pleasant View, three elementary schools share the city, and Highway 89 divides it between Weber High and Fremont High. Two homes a few blocks apart, especially in the Orchard Springs area where the highway cuts through, can be zoned to different high schools. A few homes right at the city's edges are zoned to schools in neighboring North Ogden or Farr West. And because many Pleasant View, North Ogden and Harrisville homes share the 84414 ZIP code, the ZIP alone won't tell you much. Boundaries also change as the area grows, so check the specific address. Don't assume a home's schools from the subdivision name.
How can I check which schools a specific address feeds?
Start with Weber School District's Boundary Maps page. It has separate elementary, junior high and high school maps for the 2026-27 school year. Open a map, click the magnifying glass in the lower right corner, and type in the address. If a home sits close to Highway 89 or another boundary line, call the school or the district office at (801) 476-7800 to confirm. When I'm working with a family, I check the school assignments for every home we look at before we write an offer. That way nobody falls in love with a house zoned for a different school than they expected.
Can my child attend a school outside our boundary? (Open enrollment)
Yes. Utah law allows open enrollment, so you can apply for a Weber School District school other than the one your address is zoned to. For the 2026-27 school year, the district's early application window ran from December 15, 2025 to March 6, 2026, with decisions due by March 31. Approval depends on whether the school has room, and parents handle transportation. You can apply outside the early window, but approval is less certain. Check the Weber School District website this winter for the 2027-28 dates. Charter schools have their own application and lottery timelines, so apply directly to each one.
How do schools affect home values in Pleasant View?
For many buyers, the school assignment decides which homes they'll even look at. In Pleasant View, the first question is often Weber High or Fremont High. Weber is right in town and is where most Pleasant View kids go, so many buyers start their search east of Highway 89. Parents of younger kids often search by elementary school, too, so they'll compare homes in the Lomond View and Orchard Springs areas. Since nearly every Pleasant View home feeds Orion Junior High, the junior high doesn't split the city the way the high school does.
If you're selling, list your zoned schools clearly in your listing, especially if your home is near Highway 89. If you're buying, remember that boundaries can change as Pleasant View keeps growing. That's one more reason to look at the whole picture (lot, commute, condition, price) and not buy for one school alone.
