Schools in Marriott-Slaterville, Utah: A Parent's Guide

If you're thinking about moving to Marriott-Slaterville with kids, "where will they go to school?" is probably near the top of your list. Honestly, it was near the top of mine as a mom, too. The good news is that this small city on Ogden's west side has a neighborhood elementary school, a well-known charter school, and some brand-new schools just down the road. Here's what you need to know.

Weber School District

Marriott-Slaterville is part of Weber School District, one of the larger districts in Utah. Weber uses a K-6 elementary, 7-9 junior high, and 10-12 high school setup, so your kids will usually attend three schools on their way to graduation.

Pioneer Elementary (K-6)

Pioneer Elementary sits right in town at 250 N 1600 W, in a quiet neighborhood not far from 12th Street. It's home of the Roadrunners, and it's the neighborhood elementary for most Marriott-Slaterville families. The PTA raised money a few years ago for new playgrounds, which tells you something about how involved parents are here. (As a PTA treasurer myself, I love seeing that.)

Junior High and High School

This is where I want to be really straight with you. In 2024, Weber School District opened West Field High School in Taylor and Mountain View Junior High, and it redrew boundaries across the western part of the county to fill them. That means junior high and high school assignments in Marriott-Slaterville depend on your exact address.

Nearby schools families here attend include Wahlquist Junior High in Farr West and Fremont High School in Plain City. Before you fall in love with a house, look up that specific address with Weber School District (801-476-7800) so you know exactly where your kids will go. Venture Academy (K-12 Charter)

Right here in Marriott-Slaterville at 495 N 1500 W, Venture Academy is a free public charter school serving kindergarten through 12th grade. It uses a project-based, "expeditionary learning" approach and offers AP courses in high school. Like most Utah charters, enrollment usually runs through an application and lottery, so check their deadlines early. Some families have waited a while for a spot.

Online Options

Weber School District also runs Weber Online K-6 and Weber Innovation Online 7-12 for families who want a flexible, at-home schedule while staying in the district.

College and Career Close By

Weber State University and Ogden-Weber Technical College are both a short drive away in Ogden, which is a nice perk for older kids taking concurrent enrollment or for parents going back to school.
