Best Schools in Hooper, Utah: A Parent's Guide (2026)
If you're looking at homes in Hooper, Utah, the first question I usually hear is "Where would my kids go to school?" Hooper is part of Weber School District. It's served by two elementary schools inside town, plus a handful of junior highs and high schools nearby, depending on which part of Hooper you live in. There are also several charter schools a short drive away.
I'm Megan Smith, a Realtor with Real Broker, LLC. I've spent more than 20 years in real estate as an agent and investor. I'm also a mom and an active PTSA board member, so I look at schools the way a parent does. This guide lists every school serving Hooper and answers the questions parents ask me most.

A Parent's Guide to Schools in Hooper: Your Questions Answered
How do school boundaries work in Hooper?
Weber School District assigns every home an elementary school, a junior high and a high school based on its address. Hooper is a long town that stretches east to west, so two homes a few miles apart can feed different schools. That's why Hooper has more than one school at each level. The boundaries are set by the district, not the city, and they change as new schools open. The West Field High change in 2024 is a good example. Don't rely on what a neighbor's kids attended a few years ago.
How can I check which schools a specific Hooper address feeds?
Use Weber School District's Boundary Maps page. It has the current maps for each school level. If a home sits near a boundary line, call the district office at (801) 476-7800 and give them the exact address. Check again before you're under contract, because boundaries in fast-growing areas can change. When I work with buyers, I check the school assignment for every home we're serious about before we write an offer, so there are no surprises after closing.
Can my child attend a school outside our boundary?
Often, yes. Utah has an open enrollment law, and Weber School District takes applications for schools outside your boundary. The district has an early application window each winter for the next school year. Late applications are approved only where there's room. A school can say no when it's full, and parents are responsible for getting their kids to an out-of-boundary school. You can find the details and forms on the district's Open Enrollment & Boundary Information page. Charter schools, including Quest Academy, Bridge Elementary and Venture Academy, take applications directly, usually through their own lottery.
Do schools affect home values in Hooper?
Yes, though not in a way anyone can put an exact dollar figure on. Schools are one of the first things buyers filter by when they search. That affects how fast a home sells and how many buyers compete for it. In Hooper, homes close to Hooper Elementary or Freedom Elementary, where kids can walk or have a short drive, tend to get noticed by families. When you sell, knowing your home's current school assignment, including West Field High, is part of marketing it well. I won't promise that any single school adds a set amount to a home's price. But I will tell you how schools are playing into the homes selling around you right now.
Are Hooper's schools a good fit for my family?
That depends on your kids. Hooper's two elementary schools are neighborhood schools inside a small, more rural community. For many families, that's exactly the draw. Some families prefer a charter's smaller class model or a specific program. I don't rank schools, and fair housing rules are part of why. For ratings and parent reviews, look at third-party sites like GreatSchools or Niche, then visit the schools yourself. Call the front office, ask for a tour, and go to a school event if you can. As a PTSA board member, I can tell you the parent organization is one of the best places to get an honest feel for a school.
